Hang a hummingbird feeder outside your window. It is such a delight to see those sweet tiny birds come a-grubbin'. My pa-in-law says to boil 4 C water, dissolve 1 C sugar, cool & fill feeder.
Except I don't think you really need to boil the water. I never have and the sugar dissolves just fine if you stir it enough. Also, in the past, I have added a drop or 2 of red food coloring, just for fun. I think they're attracted to it more so that way.
We have a regular birdseed-type feeder that gives me no end of pleasure. I have been amazed at how many birds come to eat there every day and the wide variety of birds that do so.
Yep, I gotta move that up on my to do list.
