friends

Wyatt is laying on my bed
laughing & laughing like a giddy little school boy.
I've been saying,
"Wyatt, do you want to go to Kindergarten and make some new friends?"
And he laughs and laughs.
The boy is ready!

And you know?
I'm ready, too.
It has been a great summer of fun & memories.
But we've done it all. It's time.
There's a bad case of summeritis around here.
We are ready for schedules and brain-stimulation,
for the house to be (semi) clean again and to go
shopping without whining littles.
Maybe get a nap or something?
And friends!
We are ready to see friends again!
Mia is so ready for that,
Wyatt loves the interaction he gets at school,
and I miss my quiet waffle brunches with neighbors.

It was always fun to go back to school
and see friends again.
To see what they'd done over the summer break,
how they'd changed,
meet & make new ones.
I used to love making friendship bracelets
for my friends.
I'm back at it
and am loving it all over again!
I made this one out of yarn
and I think the texture makes it look rad.

And I made two extras for a giveaway.
'Cause you're my friends.
If you read this blog,
even if I don't know you,
you are my friend!
Anybody that loves Bugg just has to be my friend, too.
And if you're a cookie lover?
Bonus!

Please leave me a comment telling me
what you'd like to see on the blog.
Or do you have a question for us?
Or a cookie recipe to share?
Perhaps you want to just say "Hi."
That's cool, too.
Bugg will choose 2 winners next Fridee.
We will send the friendship bracelets out with love,
including a recipe for our favorite Back to School
Oatmeal Cookies!

  2. Love your blog & how you celebrate life even when it doesn't always go according to plan

My 2 & 1/2 yr old daughter has C-ACC & loves to celebrate life as well. I think kids are born with that trait ... sometimes I need to be reminded to smell more roses. That's part of the reason I enjoy your posts so much.

You mentioned a while back that your camera broke ... glad to see it's fixed. Is that a new lens that captured that cool shot of the bee flying through the sprinkler? : )
Thanks for sharing your inspiring/rad world view

  3. You know me :) I love reading your blog to see the absolute love you have for your children! I adore all the babies we've ever had in nursery. I know we never actually kept your buggs in there, but I still count him ;) I just wish I didnt' feel like such a boring, inadequate, party-pooper mama every time you post, LOL!

  4. I'd like to see you narrate an outing that didn't go so well. :) I take our kids out because I want our older girls to be able to experience life and have fun, but Katie is such a difficult traveler. She hates water, grass, too much activity, and being in her stroller. So usually I end up trying to keep her in one place while the older girls play and have fun. I always wish I could join them, but it's not always feasible.

For anyone reading the comments who doesn't know me, our 4 year old has complete ACC and severe developmental delays.

  10. Love your blog! Not sure how I got to it, but I am hooked, you have beautiful family! I have two very "special" girls who give me more in life then I ever expected, along with two "typical" girls. Can't wait to hear about all the buggs kindergarten adventures, he is just precious and I LOVE those curls and that smile. As I say about my Lauren, without her beautiful smile I don't think life would be the same.

  11. ♥ Love and adore....you, your blog and your family ♥

I always look forward to reading each and every blog post you write and share. I click on "Bugg's *Special* Life" as soon as I see a new blog post and eagerly anticipate savoring the sunshine that beams through you and reaches my heart in a variety of ways. Truly, you have a gift for expressing yourself and your feelings in very touching ways that can bring tears to my own eyes, and at the same time put a smile on my face and joy in my heart!

What would I like to see on your blog? Hmmmm,

What do you love to do when you get time for just you? Just Bree all alone?

    (does it happen)?

In the same way that it is so important to make time for 'date night' with your spouse, do you ever take time for yourself?

If so, what do you relish in and look forward to doing?

Would you take a long walk with your camera in hand, capturing breathtaking views?

Would you read in your pajamas for hours?

    Would you....?

    Surprise us.

    Love,
    Sandie

P.S. I am so excited to read (and see) all about Bugg's Kindergarten adventures!!

  15. Bree really is as amazing as you would imagine. As her husband, I get to see behind the scenes of all the work she puts into our family. I am very grateful to those of you who have expressed your appreciation for Bree and Bugg. I don't know what I would do without them!

Bree, you truly are an inspiration to me. You have so many challenges and responsibilities and you handle them with such grace. I admire you. I appreciate you. I love you and will forever!

  20. I'm so glad I didn't miss out. IIt is fun to read all of your updates. Sadly, I've been a bit AWOL from blogland this summer. I'm trying to find my groove thang again. I'm also glad the first few days of school went well. What a relief. So far, so good for us too. Squeezes to the bug and everyone else. I hope this is going to be a great school year!!!

  21. Totally in love with your family. Your blog is a breath of fresh air in my busy day as an E.A of a class of 13 Special Needs Students. You along with many other Special Families help make my job rewarding as we partner together on this day to day journey. I would love to be able to share the bracelets as a special reward to two lucky students of mime.
I'm lOOKING forward to getting back to school to see what my little darlings have been up to doing over the summer.
